Just two weeks ago, I did one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do; I announced my resignation from Emerge Inc.
I'd like to pause and reflect on my time with Emerge and what I've done with them.
I jumped to Emerge right after graduation as my first professional job in software development using Ruby on Rails. My journey only expanded from there. From DevOps to Docker, AWS, NodeJS, Go, React, and Webpack, I got to touch a little of all these amazing technologies. The variety of technologies gave me an enormous opportunity to continuously push myself, to learn new things, and keep me on my toes these last four years.
I had the privilege to work on some amazing projects with some amazing people. Among them was building LC Explorer to help Lorain County residents find what events and activities are happening in their community. My work on many vocational school application sites allows school administrators and faculty to spend more time with the students instead of shuffling papers. Also, helping build time management software to optimize daily activities for better accountability. There were dozens of additional projects that I am proud to have been apart of also, those were just the tip of the iceberg.
The time and patience I've gotten from Emerge was well deserved and helped me get where I am today. I wish all the luck in the world to Emerge as they continue down an amazing path. I am rooting for them!
At any rate, I'm leaving the consulting world and diving head first into the Startup world as a Full-Stack Engineer. The positivity that has poured out from Amy, Jon, Doug, my family and friends has been amazing. I'm excited for what the future will hold for me and what I end up creating!
