I've always had a Windows machine, but don't use it for development that much. This year is different. With VS Code being one of my primary editors along Neovim. This brings me to my new build for 2018.
ASRock AB350 PRO4 ATX Motherboard
2x G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB F4-3000C15D-16GVR (32Gb total)
Nvidia Gigabyte GTX 1080
Crucial MX500 250GB
Couple Nortac case fans
CM Storm QuickFire Rapid
This machine is connected to a LG 27UD58-B 27-Inch 4K monitor which is a budget 4k monitor.
I actually built this computer to play pubg. Recently, I've upgraded to 32Gb of RAM to help when messing around with Docker on Windows. I'm expecting to upgrade to the new Ryzen 3000 series later this year.
I still have my late 2013 13 inch Macbook Pro Retina, still used mostly for web browsing and doing anything related to personal things.
Of the many servers that I have, my main one is a Super Micro X9SRA paired with a Xeon 2670v1 CPU and 96Gb of RAM running ESXi. This recently got upgraded from 32Gb to 96Gb of RAM. With 8 cores and 16 threads, I have plenty of horsepower to run a couple different VMs.
This year the server has been mostly used for Kubernetes experiments.
